‘Sharing the Gospel with my own generation’

Like many other students at the Anhui Theological Seminary, Tian Boro, 23, is from a Christian family and attended church throughout his childhood. The third-year student remembers very clearly the day that he felt God calling him to serve in the church.

My decision

“My parents always encouraged me to consider becoming a pastor but it had to be my decision,” he recalls. “Then one day in church, I felt that I could really make a difference. This has developed into a strong urge to share the Gospel with my own generation. After I finish here, I want to study further at the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. I have put my future in the hands of God and want to follow his wishes.” But it is not all work for Tian and his fellow students. “We are obviously not just buried in our books all day every day,” he laughs. “We play a lot of table tennis – we Chinese people love it!”
