Coming soon...‘These women changed my life… They read from the Bible for me, they sang and they consoled me and gave me hope…’A future edition of World Report will carry an extended set of articles about the diverse ministries of Bible Societies related to HIV/AIDS. These ministries include work aimed at bringing consolation to people who have given up hope, at ending the isolation in which many people who have the condition live and at showing others how to avoid contracting it. The feature will include some moving and heartening stories, testimonies and photographs from Africa and will also aim to reflect responses to the growth of the epidemic in Asia and Eastern Europe. Associate General Secretaries in each UBS region have contacted Societies running Bible-based HIV/AIDS programs asking them to contribute stories and pictures showing these ministries, and we look forward to publishing material which will be of use to Societies in their fundraising campaigns. |
