Half a million Zimbabwe famine victims to receive ScripturesHARARE, Zimbabwe The Bible Society of Zimbabwe has received funding from Dutch Christian aid organisation EO-Metterdaad which will allow it to print and distribute a further 526,000 copies of the Joseph New Reader Portion to famine victims. Under the Operation Joseph project, humanitarian agency Christian Care had already made 10,000 copies of this Portion available to people receiving food relief, and it will now be possible to expand this work. The Portion will remind Zimbabweans that, despite the countrys many problems, God has not forgotten us and will heal our land, according to Bible Society General Secretary Edward Mutema. The Bible Society is also looking to tackle deep divisions in the country caused by political unrest, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Who Is My Neighbour?, a Scripture Selection about reconciliation.
