Bible People in the NewsACCRA, Ghana The Methodist Church of Ghana has chosen the Very Rev Dr Robert K Aboagye-Mensah to become its Presiding Bishop in October 2003. Dr Aboagye-Mensah, who is a Methodist minister, is currently Second Vice-President of the Bible Society of Ghana, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana and Executive Director of the Ghana Institute for Biblical Exposition and Teaching. Dr Aboagye-Mensah lectured at Trinity Theological College in Legon, Ghana, and All Nations Christian College in the UK, and has also become well-known as a promoter of Bible work in Ghana and as a radio presenter. He will replace the Most Rev Dr Samuel Asante-Antwi. (WR 371/IB1 10.02) WORLD The World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) has appointed Dr Musimbi Kanyoro as its new President. Dr Kanyoro, who is Kenyan, gained doctorates in linguistics and theology in the US and served for almost 10 years as Executive Secretary for Women in Church and Society at the Lutheran World Federation. She is also a former UBS Translation Consultant, with responsibility for projects in East Africa and the Indian Ocean. She is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland, as General Secretary of the World Young Womens Christian Association, and is also Vice Chair of the UBS Committee on Translation Policy.
