Malawi food crisis affects Bible distributionBLANTYRE, Malawi Byson Nakutho, Executive Director of the Bible Society of Malawi, has described the food crisis facing his country as very alarming. Many people were dying, he said, and as much as 70 per cent of the population was facing starvation. Adding that the crisis was now affecting the Bible Societys distribution efforts, he said, I have sent our marketing manager for a fact-finding tour in the rural areas. The initial reports are very alarming. We will come up with a strategy in due course [outlining] how we can cope with the situation. He asked the UBS fellowship to continue to pray for us.
