Sharing a passion for Christ

Thailand Stories gathered by Bruce Millar, UBS freelance photojournalist

BANGKOK, Thailand — Alamin Paputungan (below) was a professional golfer until an accident, which cut his hand, ended his career. Though no longer able to play professionally, golf is still one of his passions – but his greatest love is for God, whom he came to know in 1991.

Currently a crewmember on the MV Doulos, Mr Paputungan often plays golf on his rest days. He uses his visits to the golf course as an opportunity to tell others of what God has done in his life, and to distribute Scripture Portions.

On one such occasion, when the Doulos was in Thailand, Mr Paputungan was driven to the golf course on a “tuk-tuk” – a motorised tricycle with a passenger seat. The driver watched Mr Paputungan and his friend, and read the Scripture literature that they gave him.

The driver was so challenged by Mr Paputungan’s life that, after returning to the Doulos, he gave his life to the Lord and was presented with his own Thai Bible. (WR 360/27 - 06.01) [PHOTOS]
