Fresh hope and faithBAGHDAD, Iraq Some years ago, Nadia almost died while on a church picnic to the banks of the Tigris River. She was rushed to a Baghdad hospital, where her family cried out for Gods healing power . . . and Nadia recovered. Since then, however, Nadia and her husband have been through various trials. Her husband suffered a leg injury in the Gulf War and finds it difficult to hold down a regular job. He has been unemployed for years. As a result they can no longer afford rent, and have had to give up their house. So when Nadia heard that some Jordanians and Lebanese were going to perform one evening (see previous story), she brought her mother and young son to see whether Jesus still cared for her and her loved ones. She drank in everything that was said and sung, and went away with fresh hope and faith, having experienced the touch of Gods presence. (WR 360/3 - 06.01)Contents... |
