Bible Centre for Young People:
A Year in the Life

SEOUL, Korea — Next month marks one year in the life of the Korean Bible Society’s new Centre for Bible Education and Culture. Opened in December as a special project for the new century, the Centre uses a range of modern media to help young people understand and apply the principles of living biblically.

Among its features is a multimedia system offering easy access to a varied menu of Christian culture. Young visitors can watch Christian films, listen to Christian music, and enjoy performances of live drama with Christian themes.

Programs over the first, successful 12 months have included:

The Bible Viewed Through Movies: Sessions helping young Christians understand the relationship between reality and movies, providing them with a chance to link Christian faith and biblical messages while decoding the meanings of films;

Cultural Activities Program: An opportunity to express the biblical messages in music using traditional musical instruments;

Children’s Week: Events and programs enabling emotionally sensitive young people to find interest in the biblical messages through animation, cartoons, puppet shows, and drawing;

Group Bible Study: The provision of ways to understand the Word of God and apply the principles in their daily lives.

Learning English Conversation through the Bible: Helping young people study English and at the same time get in touch with the biblical message by discussing the various subjects of the Bible text in English.
