FestiBIBLE offers attractions
for all

PARIS, France — Members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in northern France are being invited to support Bible work across the world both in prayer and in their giving as part of FestiBIBLE 2003, a week-long series of events being staged by the church in collaboration with the French Bible Society.

Running from May 14, FestiBIBLE forms part of the Year of the Bible 2003 celebrations taking place in several European countries (see World Report 373/4). It aims to present the Bible in a relevant and accessible way to people of all ages through a range of attractions including a Gospel music concert, a CyberBible facility for young people, a special children’s program, an exhibition on the communication of biblical texts and two conferences in the ‘Bible and Archaeology’ series.

Using the theme “The Bible: origins and zeal”, FestiBIBLE is intended to encourage people who are not very familiar with the Bible to consider broad questions about the purpose of life. Through Bible workshops which will be open to all, people who are interested in learning more about the Bible will be guided towards an understanding of its message of peace and reconciliation, both in an international context and for French society.

The Bible Society is supplying materials including brochures, New Testaments and complete Bibles for distribution to people who attend FestiBIBLE events and express an interest in receiving them. A special information session about the Bible Societies’ translation and distribution work will give members of the Adventist Church the opportunity to offer both monetary and prayer support for this work.
